Siwmming Co-curricular

Image
6/6/2018 - 23/8/2018 This is definitely a sequel for "England's 3 Idiots" or better known as " 英国三傻" (kononnya better know hahhah) .  When everyone else has completed their co-curricular session, it only left 3 of us to take it this semester. We chose swimming as our activity. I can say it is one of the best choices I have made. We had tons of fun, learning new things and also building a fit body (AND SUPER TANNED SKIN COLOUR, AKU MACAM CAVEMAN). Even though I know how to swim previously, but I do not have a right skill to execute them. Hence, we have our instructor, Ms Sow Yee to teach us to do breaststroke, freestyle, water polo and many more in a correct way. (she used to thought that I have been to swimming classes by looking at my performances haha truth is, my dad is my swimming instructor when I was young) After 12 weeks of practices, the day everyone is looking forward to has approached. It is called Cocu Say. The day where we will compete in diffe...

Bird On A Wire - Malaysia Short Film

Image
14th Feb 2018 My second project during my internship in Reservoir World - helping out on a passion project where the company produced a short film written by an in-house director to participate in Adfest 2018 competition.  Short film title: Bird On A Wire  10th Feb (Pre-production): Final preparations  11th - 13th/ 14th (midnight) Feb (Production): Shooting of the short film I was in charge of the art department, from preparing the prop list, to finding the props and decorating the shooting scenes. I also had to chance to cameo in the film! It was really tiring but I definitely learnt a lot from here. Felt a sense of accomplishment too! We named ourselves the "Super Art Team" and we indeed are. 😎 *Yea, Yen Han's face as our WA group profile pic HAHA A screenshot of my name at the end credit! And Guess what? This short film won in Adfest 2018 Fabulous Four! 🏆 Congrats to Hui Xin and team Reservoir! Can't recall what is this for but it seems like a documentation for m...

What I've Gained from Studying Abroad

Image
24/1/2018 My studying abroad programme in Coventry University, United Kingdom has finally come to an end. It is undeniable that the past 4 months had been filled with joy, happiness, memories and different experiences. I could not find any reasons to not love this precious opportunity. A picture of me travelling in Hallstatt, Austria. In this post, I would like to share a few things I have gained from studying abroad: 1. Listening skill My listening skill is the first thing I found out I have improved a lot. I used to rely on subtitles when I am watching videos/movies/short film that is produced by the Americans, British or other countries besides my own homeland, Malaysia and Singapore which has similar accent/slang as we do. Right now, I am able to catch up words easily without subtitles or in a conversation with others. This skill really made me on cloud nine now as I used to feel upset that I am bad in listening. 2. Speaking skill I have tremendous...

Last 3 days in United Kingdom

Image
19/1/2018 It was a busy day where I ran up and down to settle my things, such as: doing laundry, withdraw money from my UK bank account, CZK money exchange, short form narrative feedback session (Sanna and Jonathan gave comments on our short film and distributing our marks), return our Macbook Pro (I GONNA MISS MY MACBOOK 😭) and etc. Bidding goodbye to Eliza when I passed her my rice cooker (SO I DON'T NEED TO BRING IT BACK TO MALAYSIA). She is my high school friend and we did not know that we both are studying in the same university until one day we bumped into each other unexpectedly in Lanchester Library. We had a solid 1 and a half hour chat together, so fun and enjoyable. 20/1/2018 Chef Audrey prepared a delicious yet a little too salty breakfast for herself. HAHAHA So I prepare this meal out of the thought of finishing whatever I left (fusilli, mushrooms, Chinese sausage aka 腊肠 and onion) and the outcome turned out well! After my breakfast, I went to have my...

First Snowfall Experience at the Age of 20

Image
10/12/2017 I experienced my first (heavy) snowfall in Coventry, United Kingdom! It was ✨ MAGICAL ✨. Waking up to  an  enchanting snow  on a  beautiful  Sunday morning!  (my view from my dorm's window) This thought has   never  crossed  my mind  and it  triggered a slew of emotions in me. I quickly took my phone, captured this mesmerising scenery and excitedly shared it with my family and friends back in Malaysia. Without brushing my teeth, I quickly put on a few layers of clothes, my winter jacket, gloves, grabbed my phone and dashed downstairs, together with Jiun Sheng. The reason why the others did not follow is because they went when it was still snowing, at 6 in the morning (I was still sleeping soundly) HAHA These girls are cray crayyyy! Pretty sure they both were the first to step on the freshly fallen snow. Am I dreaming? How can it be so pretty?! I was so delighted and excited seeing this snow hit Coventry and blanketed th...
