Sambutan Ambang Merdeka (Celebration of Independence Day)
29/8/2014

School bells rang, telling teachers to dismiss their classes while students to go home! However, 6 of us headed to Kasturi Tuition Centre and we had a great journey.
"Can you help me to take a picture of us?" "Okay." "I wanna enter too!" "eh, wait for me" "sabar jap!" "怎么可以少了我!" "oi, tunggu." It's always tough to take an individual picture when you have friends like them ;)
Hari Merdeka (also know as Independence Day) is a national day of Malaysia commemorating the independence of the Federation of Malaya from British colonial rule in 1957, celebrated on 31st of August each year. (yeah, Wikipedia, the free encylopedia)
It was 2 days before Hari Merdeka and we celebrated it in school. Every student put on their colourful Baju Kurung as it is Malaysia's national dress. (All-girls school) So I borrowed it from my classmate, Fatimah who is really generous and helpful. She brought a few pieces for us to choose and yes, they are really nice! Thank you so much! ;D

Different races in Baju KurungSSS! Beauty of Malaysia haha
Independent Day Celebration (Sambutan Ambang Merdeka in Bahasa Malaysia) started early in the morning. Upper 6 students did a model show displaying our traditional wears, lower 6 performed a sketch, Form 4 students did a choir and more! When it was time to sing patriotic songs, students in charge gave everyone a Malaysia flag. The students sang out loud, they were full of enthusiasm, some even went insane! Then, there was this student started to take photos and the others followed her footstep. *I bet you can imagine how was the situation haha* We couldn't stop taking pictures and I actually saw some teachers were annoyed with it. But whatever, we celebrated this day with great zeal!

We had our lunch in KFC :)
When we arrived at tuition centre, we received a few compliments and questions from teachers and the staff in Kasturi regarding our Baju Kurung haha Here is the first one, our Form 3 Bahasa Malaysia teacher asked us: "Kenapa you semua pakai cantik2? Ada occasion?". We were taken aback for a moment as we hardly talk to her. After that, when I passed by the counter to enter Chinese class, the staff praised that the Baju Kurung is nice! While our Chinese teacher asked us why are we wearing Baju Kurung? Did we perform in school just now? omg :'D And not to forget my BM teacher! En. Rahim: "Amoi, Cina kan? Cantik pakai baju kurung, minggu depan pakai lagi ye." and then urged the other students to wear it too. I was like "er...." (out of word) and just offered a smile as he sounded creepy to me hahahaha
Let's end this post with Wei Ling ft subway cookies.
