E-hailing Rides in Romania

Image
24 Dec 2023 Bought this magnet from Cărturești Verona, a bookstore located at Bucharest, Romania. 🧲 I personally think it is very nice, with different places of attraction on it. However, it was a little costly, 20 Lei/pc. Opps back to topic, just wanted to do a quick sharing on my e-hailing experience in Romania. Before my travel, I did some reads up on how tourists commute in Romania. Other than public transport, e-hailing is widely used, Grab and Bolt  are the two most mentioned applications. We downloaded these 2 applications and whenever we need to use it, we will compare the prices. My verdicts: 1. Bolt is generally cheaper and there is 50% discount for new users. Screenshot as reference below. These are my rides and the original costs should be double the price! After these 3 rides, the prices are back to normal, without any promo. 2. It is hard to get a bolt or grab driver if you are out of city, even you choose a more luxurious cars or more expensive options. You have to ...

Coventry University Notebook

Image
15th Nov 2023 Just wanna safekeep the last view of this Coventry University Notebook here. Gotten it during my degree's dual award programme back in 2017. Audrey, as a hoarder decided to throw this notebook after putting it into a good use. Look at the cover, totally worn out. You served me well! 😂

Say Goodbye to Glasses 🤓

10th November 2023 It's D-Day, for my TransPRK surgery. TransPRK stands for Transepithelial Photorefractive Keratectomy (TransPRK), it is a touch-free laser eye correction for refractive errors such as short-sightedness.  Slot in a random photo I took at The Palm, Jumeirah, Dubai. I started wearing spectacles when I was 10 years old, and only when I needed to see the whiteboard in class. Then, I started to wear them on daily basis when I turned 13. For a person who loves doing sports and all sort of activities like cheerleading, swimming, white water rafting, adventure parks and etc., it was really troublesome. I had to wear contact lens or just be blind. My short-sightedness power is 350 (L) and 550 (R), lazy eyes they said. The thought of doing eye correction surgery is always back in my mind for many years. However, nothing motivates me to pursue further.  Only until recently, I met a lot of new friends or colleagues who have done this surgery and all they told me was this ...

Helix Piercing

Image
29th July 2023 Been thinking if I should get a helix piercing for quite a while and I have finally done it! I did mine at Dragon Silver, Sunway Velocity. It costs a total of RM95, RM70 for needle piercing and RM25 for the earring. It was a little pricey but just thought that getting needle piercing might give me a clear of mind (I was afraid of an infection if I did gun piercing but honestly I think it won't?) Here is the outcome and I like it!  I made a video of the process too. For me, it wasn't painful at all. If you are thinking if you should get one, don't hesitate and go for it! I read an article saying helix is the part where it is considered the least painful when it comes to cartilage piercing..this is because helix's cartilage is thinner. So, don't worry! By the way, it is SUPER PAINFUL when my helix piercing knocked into something. The best scenario I can think of is when I hugged my friend and it knocked to their head or shoulder. (I did it few times.. a...

The Sacred Riana Conjuring Live

Image
15th July 2023 Took a break from concerts and watch a horror live performance instead. Oh is it? Elaine won us a pair of tickets to watch The Sacred Riana Conjuring Live! If you haven't heard of her, here is a video of her that went viral. Thoughts after watching:  1. The violin performance for the opening was a little too long. 2. Sacred Riana's performance was in slow pace. (Not the kind that give you scares) 3. Seeing how Sacred Riana able to guess the audience's house address and her late pet cat's name were eerie. 4. The part where 20+ scary looking girls coming out from a cabinet was quite "wow" to watch. 😂 Overall live performance was alright, hope it could be a little fast pace and more things to expect. Quite an experience indeed!

「爱要怎么说出口」Concert by Zhao Chuan & Michelle Pan

Image
10th June 2023 Younger sis be like "Let's go to a concert tomorrow!" after she got free tickets from Carousell.  It is「爱要怎么说出口」concert by Zhao Chuan & Michelle Pan (台湾“摇滚男高音”赵传与“美声天后”潘越云). Two well-known singers during the 80s, before I was born. To be honest, I have heard some of their hits songs but didn't know who are the singers so this acts an opportunity for me to learn more about them! Concert held in Arena of Stars @ Genting. Had to edit this video as it is Elaine's favourite song - 爱要怎么说出口 by Zhao Chuan 赵传! She has been listening to this song since forever. She was over the moon during the concert. I also chose a few classic songs from the concert and edited into a 4 minutes video. We really enjoyed ourselves listening to all the oldies live, especially Zhao Chuan's (赵传) songs. It was a good one!

Dumping all the photos below first and will rearrange them soon 👀  (Scroll all the way down for video!) Editing a 8-hours worth of performances to a 17-minutes video was challenging! Just wanna include all the good bits into it. ❤️ Happy times!

Red Wood by DSQUARED²

Image
Bought my first own perfume, Red Wood by DSQUARED². It was love at first "smell".  The bottle quality is good, heavy and thick glass, along with the magnetic cap. I have a sensitive nose, I used to sneeze or felt discomfort when there is a strong scent around me. Thank God, my tolerance got better as I grew older. Picking my own perfume is something the younger me wouldn't believe I'm doing now. Red Wood gives a floral fruity fragrance, not too strong but a hint of sweetness and uplifting mood.  I'm loving my purchase here. Bought it in the airport when I'm on my way back from Turkey to Dubai.
