MGCYP Camp - Forget Him Not

Not long after Broga camp, Chou Tong and I joined a youth camp which is organized by Wei Ling's church (Melawati Gospel Centre). I made a very last minute decision since I'm still thinking should I skip my tuition for this camp. At last, I convinced myself to join more camps before I don't have the chance to. I confirmed with Wei Ling on Wednesday and she was like "Are you sure you are going? Confirm ah? Really?" haha However, this caused her to do a LITTLE MORE job (don't mind Wei Ling :P).

13/12/2013 (Friday)

Waking up early in the morning because Chou Tong is coming over at 8a.m. I was too tired and I cannot stop yawning so I actually slept even though she is in my house. My younger sis asked me how can I be so bad that I left my friend sitting outside doing nothing hahaha. When the clock strikes at 12.15p.m, we left the house to Wei Ling's crib. She fetched us to a nearby bus stop to wait for the bus and we departed around 1.20p.m.

After 2 hours and also passed by the correct junctions twice, we finally reached El Sanctuary. Carrying our luggage up to a slanting road with the accompany of countless dogs. We gathered in dining hall and start doing our payment, getting our t-shirts, booklets and tags. Due to my filling, I'm having a SERIOUS toothache now. Even eating an egg tart I already feel so dead.

When we were all done, we went to the hall to start our activities. We started by introducing ourselves and all of them were strangers to me except Wei Ling, Chou Tong and Tze Li. Our first ice breaking game is "Bingo" and the next game is "Guess The Suspicious Person" (I created the name by myself lol). For the 2nd round, I got chosen to do the actions while the others will follow me. They asked me why does all my actions are so painful such as hitting the person who sits on my right and hitting our own arm (this action is quite stupid but I can't think of what to do as we were have to respond fast).

Treasure hunt came up next. It's a group task. So I went with my group - Minnas (Swedish word with the meaning remember). Our group leader is Eamonn and the team members are Jeffry, Kimberly, Wei Ling, Joel, Adrian and me. I still feel a little awkward while playing as I'm not familiar with them and Wei Ling wasn't there too. I just follow them wherever they go and completing the tasks. Tasks - shifting the ping pong balls, find hints, pass the filled cup by biting, balancing the batteries, bite the hanged up carrot (at first we sent Joel to do so since he is the youngest but he kept shaking. So, they told me to try and I stepped on Adrian and Eamonn in order to do the task *sorryyyy. I only bite a very tiny part because of my toothache and I don't wan to munch on the FRESH carrot lol. It took my a long time to finish it up even though it's so tiny). 

When everyone completed the game, Jeffry told us which chalet do we stay and ours is chalet 11. Having a camp here is actually quite tiring, not that we did a lot of activities but we have to climb up and down to our chalet, hall or dining hall haha lol.

After cleaning up, we had our dinner and I'm enjoying my food with my tortoise speed. Then, we went back to the hall for worship, session and discussion. Our session 1 is about "Remember Your Creator". It's related to our theme of this camp - Forget Him Not and they were prepared by Mr Ritchie. Mr Ritchie really has a flow of eloquence (Y). He is good in passing a message, good in telling stories and good in convincing the others. During discussion time, I didn't really speak out my opinions, most probably because of I don't really know about Christianity and yeah, still a lil shy? lol. We followed up our schedule by having supper (drinking milo) and slept at 12p.m.

14/12/2013 (Saturday)

Woke up at 7a.m. and our group Minnas gathered at the hall for quiet time because there's no mosquito and it's equipped with air conditioner haha. Quiet time 1: "Before It Is Too Late (Ecclesiastes 12: 1-8). During quiet time, my group members willing to share their personal stuffs with us without any hesitation. I hope I'll be like one of them ;) After we had our breakfast, it's time for worship, session 2 (Rejoice in the Days of Your Youth) and discussion. As our schedule said, we should be having jungle trekking at this time, 11a.m. but there's misunderstanding between the organizer and owner of El Sanctuary so they delayed it to 5.30p.m. Because of the slight changes, we had our free time now to discuss our talent show which is doing a sketch. In our talent show, we need to include a few aspects, the characters - Mr. Bean and Katniss Everdeen from Hunger Game, theme - love and a song from the movie - Thor. However, we did not made much conclusions hahaha.

Lunch - session 3 (Realise Your Community). We played a game called "Win All You Can". This game is about trust :) Wei Ling and I joined group Memores because they lack of members. We were like sabotage our own group by helping Memores to win *kaching kaching*. Both of us also non-stop asking why Mr. Ritchie doesn't mention that group Minnas is a kind group because they were putting green card all the way causing them to deduct marks haha.

The sky suddenly starts pouring. Rumble of thunder, frequent ligthnings, heavy rain, the roof is leaking and no electricity in sudden. The most HEARTBROKEN part is we CAN'T GO FOR JUNGLE TREKKING and NO BON FIRE AS THE WOOD IS WET D: No idea why that most of the campers were so happy about that *wondering*? So they started discussing their church's issue. I know nothing about it but just hear. Joel even SLEPT haha. Then, they gave us a break since we have nothing to do. Chou Tong and I were so lost... we had no where to go ._. Dining hall - feeling awkward if we suddenly join into others' convo, hall - they were discussing some stuffs / learning music. Therefore, we decided to take our shower and guess what, our chalet has NO ELECTRICITY and it's ONLY OURS. So we have to bath in the dark (fortunately the sky wasn't very dark yet).

After dinner time, we had our photo session, session 4 (Release Your Baggage) and discussion. Here comes the nerve-wrecking talent night! We were in that state because we haven't decide an ending for our sketch. So we had to do a lil discussion while the others are performing. We were the 3rd group to do our sketch. Wei Ling acted as my sister and she laughed when she made her entrance causing me to laugh too (were laughing at Adrian's wig aka orange colour plastic bag and his female voice as he was imitating Effie Trinket hahaha). It's really hilarious and I also got bruises while acting the fighting part lol. Talent night ended at 11p.m. and we went to dining hall for supper time. Surf Internet and chit-chatting. At one time, Jen Yoong without looking clearly, he took the oreo which Wei Ling was holding because he thought that was his pendrive. We laughed so hard and Cikgu asked is he that hungry? hahaha. Back to chalet at 12 in the midnight but we don't feel sleepy at all so we started to selca by using Wei ling's laptop. Being girly at this time :3 and finally off to bed at 1a.m.

Had a lot of laughter during our dinner time. 

1. Tze Li, Chou Tong and I were chatting about our primary band time's memories. Joel told us to stop our topic about saliva (were talking about the moment you are cleaning your instrument after using them) when he's eating but we can't stop XD. Nawww, I miss my CLARINET so much! 

2.Adrian took a lot of spaghetti and he can't finish it and he told Joel to look after his food because he wanna get away from it hahaha At last, he took Chou Tong's empty plate and put half of the spaghetti on her plate so it looks better which means it's the other who wasted the food, not him lol.

3. They were saying that there are a lot of mosquitoes and Joel said: "Ya meh? I see no black spots on my leg wor." and I was like: "Black spot? You mean red spots after mosquito bites is it?" Joel: "Black spot lar, when the mosquito stops on your leg." We were like "LOL".

15/12/2013 (Sunday)

Started our day with quiet time again. Quiet time 2: Faithful To The Finish (Hebrews 12: 1-4). For this day, I'm like a failure during breakfast time hahaha. You know why? I'm the 2nd person to take the food but then I'm the last one to finish them *blame my toothache*. The worst is it's after the others finished doing their job but I'm still slowly enjoying my food lolol. When I'm FINALLY done *YAY*, we brought our luggage from our chalet to the office (Samson said we girls surely did not play Tetris because we simply put our stuffs in the office without arrangement *but I played Tetris leh*).

After that, we went to hall for worship time (I need to mention that I enjoyed worship time because we get to sing Church's songs. You'll get into the song, melody, lyrics and rhythm easily.) and our last session, session 5 (Refocus Your Destiny). Then the most touching part -- Reflection time! Everyone spoke out their thought, their opinions, their sorrowfulness but not me (a few more didn't speak too). I feel sorry for not sharing anything but I'm a newbie hereeeee :P I couldn't imagine that almost everyone cried as they speak! Even me, although I'm not one of the church's member, but my tears rolled down as Cikgu was praying for Reuben. HAHAHA NO IDEA WHY ._. The reflection time ended with Mr. Ritchie's praying.

To calm down everyone, Cikgu announced the winner of the camp: JENG JENG JENG, MINNAS WON! hahahaha It's all because of sketch, we got the highest marks for it! Maybe we succeed in conveying the message of love (The love of Katniss towards her sis, Primrose, the love of Mr Bean for his favourite movie, Hunger Games and Mr. Bean's love towards his teddy hahaha. Maybe you don't get what I mean :P). Initially Cikgu wanted to give us the junk food as our reward, but of course all of us wanted to share them together while on our way back.

#You might think that this camp isn't as fun as Broga camp but come to think of it, it's far different. So, no regrets :)
