9th National Open WUSHUDAO Championship

9/8/2014 - 10/8/2014

It was an insane decision of joining 9th National Open WUSHUDAO Championship when you know nothing about Wushudao. Besides that, you have only one month to train for it. Hooi Yee and I were the beginners so we trained more than the Wushudao's members. To be precise, they don't really attend the training..... It was quite tiring as I need to rush to Kasturi Tuition Centre after my training on Friday.

The day has finally arrived and it was held in SJK(C) Tsun Jin. We registered, weighed, practiced and also rehearsed for the opening. As I said I am not a Wushudao member, I do not know the basics, I only trained for the particular events I compete for. Therefore, I got no idea all the actions they did for opening, I just followed those who were in front of me. Obviously, I did a lot of mistakes.

Opening.

We were bewildered when the emcee announced the first event is Female Sparring as they said it was the last event for the past few years. Fortunately there's a state representative, named Adrian willing to teach us and yes, we gained more knowledge about sparring. His brother, Amos and his friend, Justin helped us too.

Competition time! Amos wished me good luck and he asked about my age. I told him and he was shocked and out of word as he thought I was younger than him *proud jap* (tbh, I also thought he was older but he is only 14, height is deceiving. Ohdang, I want that height!). Secondary Female Sparring started with under 52kg and continued with my category "Under 48kg". Miss Chan wanted me to join "Under 42kg" but I don't think I manage to cut down 2kg in few weeks time, I just don't workout nor exercise :P When it was my turn to get into the ring, I got butterflies in my stomach, eh no, I mean dragons in my stomach. Shockingly, my opponent didn't showed up and I AM QUALIFIED FOR THE FINAL WITHOUT COMPETING!

While ZiYing is putting on her safety equipment haha
Sparring competition.

After that, we waited for SHOO LONG for our Wushudao 1, Combo 1 and Chang Quan. Amos taught me a lottttt about Wushudao (I should feel embarrass that I need a little one to teach me but we are never too old to learn, right?) and bcz of this situation, I kena ejek by YY and YF lol

Preparing for trials even though you are having competition #lifeofspmstudents
Let's have some selfie before competing!

When we were queuing up for Wushudao 1, there is this one girl who thought I was younger than my actual age again (cries out of joy). After competiting for Wushudao 1, I was quite disappointed as I did it too fast and I forgotten to shout :( On the other hand, I think my combo 1 was quite good (don't judge, I mean for a beginner who just learnt for weeks lol)

The only pic we had our coat on.
Unexpectedly, I am the 3rd runner up for Secondary Pattern Female Wushudao 1!
I really thought I will get nothing for this ;)

Same goes to Secondary Combo Female Combo 1,  I am the 3rd runner up too but I was expecting for a better result :(
Oh btw, I did badly in Chang Quan so yeah, I lost! hahhaha
Receiving my medal!

During the prizing ceremony, we had some random chit-chat and played with our mobile phone. So while looking through my mobile phone, that fella asked is 易烊千玺 my bf which made me can't stop laughing hahaha We took pictures before we leave. It was a longgggg day, we only get to go back home at 8.30p.m.

SMKPT's Wushudao representatives!

Tired look of mine when I reached home.

10/8/2014

It was the second day of 9th National Open WUSHUDAO Championship where it is for those who got into sparring finals. For every category, we will need to do a lucky draw to choose our opponents. It was a bad idea....... but yeah, what is past is past.

Can't resist their cuteness OMO

The youngest participants for sparring!
Everyone was having a great time looking at their fight! It was beyond cute omg
Even though Yung Jing was not involve in today's event, she still came all the way to give a support!

Hooi Yee was fighting with Goh Ci Min. That girl was younger but she is really powerful!
Yeah, I lost to her too haha

Some light scratches during sparring match.
When it was my turn for sparring, I was really nervous as there's no one there to guide me as the guys were having competition. I kept telling Hooi Yee to find someone to guide me as I am really clueless hahaha Fortunately, there was a Shaolin coach coached me before my competition. I tried my best to apply them into my competition but Goh Ci Min is really strong! I can conclude that the feeling of getting hit and hitting the others were really interesting lol Coolest experience that I won't experience anymore.
So yup, I am the 2nd runner up for Secondary Sparring Female Below 48kg.

Prize giving ceremony!
萌萌哒

Taking pictures with the kids from SJK(C) Kwong Hon. They are really really good even though they were only 12!
Kids' laughter.
So I fell down in the public while chasing the lil primary school kid on the right and had bruises on my knee. Childish much huh?
Thank you Miss Wong for fetching us here and there!

Bronze for every event I joined, except Chang Quan.

Glad that I made through it within a month time of practising. Congratulations to those who won and a really big thanks to Miss Chan and the others who helped us. It was definitely a great and fun experience joining Wushudao. Sadly, I'm too old to join for the next round. So all the best, people!
