First Snowfall Experience at the Age of 20

10/12/2017

I experienced my first (heavy) snowfall in Coventry, United Kingdom!
It was ✨MAGICAL✨.

Waking up to an enchanting snow on a beautiful Sunday morning!
(my view from my dorm's window)
This thought has never crossed my mind and it triggered a slew of emotions in me. I quickly took my phone, captured this mesmerising scenery and excitedly shared it with my family and friends back in Malaysia.

Without brushing my teeth, I quickly put on a few layers of clothes, my winter jacket, gloves, grabbed my phone and dashed downstairs, together with Jiun Sheng. The reason why the others did not follow is because they went when it was still snowing, at 6 in the morning (I was still sleeping soundly) HAHA
These girls are cray crayyyy! Pretty sure they both were the first to step on the freshly fallen snow.

Am I dreaming? How can it be so pretty?!

I was so delighted and excited seeing this snow hit Coventry and blanketed the city. I just couldn't stop smiling. The sight was so pretty that it literally took my breath away. Like, look at the photos!!!
My nose turned red!

After spending a good amount of time with the snow, I went back to my dorm to clean myself up and went back down to continue the fun! Never enough for us who are living in a tropical weather year round, Malaysia where we only experience rainy and sunny weatherWe had so much fun building snowman, snow fighting with random strangers we saw on the street (it was painful though when kena by solid snowballs), ice skating with our shoes, lying on the ground like an angel and taking tons of photos!

Screenshot of UK Home | Daily Mail Online news about this snowfall. Oh, it is also Coventry's HEAVIEST SNOWFALL in more than 20 years. We were really lucky to have experience this.
A short video showing the moment I stepped on the snow to us playing snow fight.

Sorry not sorry, I'm so gonna start spamming the photos here!
Being dumb here by grabbing a really big pile of snow. It was really funnnnn 😂
We played with the snow for almost 5 hours and I couldn't feel my hands anymore.
Undoubtedly a great experience with these people!
With Eliza, my secondary school classmate hehe
Ready for snowball fight?
Joy and excitement were written all over our faces.
Split pose with da snow is a MUST!
The best snow is the one behind us, before anyone steps on it. They were so pretty, fluffy and magical.
❄ Fresh white snow ❄
This video made me realise both my hands and legs can't coordinate. That's why I can't dance 🩰👀
We made snow angel too! ⛄👼
*Snow angel: to form the shape of an angel by lying on one's back and moving one's arms up and down, and one's legs from side to side.
Ruey's perfect snow angel.

Before the selfies game begin, lemme add one video and some images of how Coventry City Centre looks like in white. 💙
Thanks Ruey for sharing me this video!

Now let's start with all the selfies!
Taking selfie with the "white" Coventry Cathedral'. It is a church that lies at the very heart of the city of Coventry.
Let's build a tiny snowman!
The look of pure contentment.

Having fun everywhere we go. (next to Coventry University Sport & Recreation building)

Sharing other events that happened on the same day below.
We had our brunch at McDonald's, located at West Orchards Shopping Centre and I ordered their BBQ Chicken BLC: Crispy coated chicken patty with BBQ sauce, long rashers of bacon, cheese and lettuce in a toasted bun. It was good but not the best.
I also ordered a cup of berries smoothies from Love Shake, right opposite of McDonald’s. Cold drink during winter, sounds GUCCI!

As I mentioned earlier I couldn't feel my hands due to the cold/snow, I quickly went to Sports Direct to buy a pair of winter gloves. Yes, to allow me to play with more snow and to prevent me from losing my hands during this winter. P/s: I only had wool gloves before this HAHA
I bought No Fear: Board Gloves with only £9.99 (around RM55 in Malaysia Ringgit, MYR).
Pros: Good quality, can keep me warm
Cons: very bulky, can't use the phone
A photo of me showing my newly bought winter gloves to my parents.

Until the end of the day, I am still in disbelief! I couldn't grasp the fact that I actually stepped into 14cm thick of snow on the ground, seeing
Coventry covered by a blanket of snow with my own eyes. How can a city changed its outlook in just one night?

I'm truly blessed and grateful.
