Annual Sports Day
17/6/2014
Practice makes perfect.
For the previous years, Temenggung's runners do not have any practices before going into the stadium tracks (maybe that's me lol) but now, we had training! Cik Hasyimah, our Temenggung's teacher is really sporting and supportive. She did everything with her might so that the girls will put in their best effort too. She gave us, the runners an exhausting training! I really appreciate those who came for practices and gave their fullest cooperation too. The quality of team spirit is what we need!

"Tomorrow is the last year of us, the Form 5s joining sports day and some of us can feel the same pressure of the graduated students haha. Bendahara is only 4 points ahead of us. So Temenggung, with all our might, we have this golden opportunity to win the first place this year. No longer last or third! Make sure our hard work paid off and leave no regret. Good luck and take good care of yourself in every events tomorrow. No matter what, TEMENGGUNG JUARA!" -Audrey Tee
Sports Day, one of the major events celebrated in our school annually is finally here! Veronica and I were a little late to school so we sat the other team's bus to Stadium Mini Seri Permaisuri. It took us 20 minutes there. The students were allotted to their respective seats and the team leaders briefed the members while the runners went into the track to warm up.
Sports Day came to an end and we went back to school with a broad smile on our face. *well, I did not... Things happened which made me felt moody*
"WHAT TEAM? TEMENGGUNG! WHAT TEAM? TEMENGGUNG! TEMENGGUNG? JU-A-RA! Temenggung finally made it and won the champion! It was so amazing and unexpected when the teacher announced the results. After that, all we did is cheering our lungs out for our team and hugging each other. A round of applause to our sporting Temenggung's captain, the AJKs and our supportive teacher who wept for joy in the end. ;D Truly blessed. Keep it up, Temenggung!" -Audrey Tee

Runners' training.
Pergerakan Irama, one of the interesting events we had (not every school has it).
It required 64 students to participate it and a lot of practices to make it looks uniform.
Sports Day's preparations started on February. The leaders cracked their head thinking of what to do and how to make the students become sports enthusiast. It isn't an easy job....... However, my post as a secretary of Temenggung is to take student's attendance and write reports about our weekly activity. Quite troublesome lol Even my friends asked me why am I so busy, running here and there.

Yellow: TEMENGGUNG'S BOARD GOT THE 2ND PLACE! (it wasn't as nice/creative as other teams but it has the spirit of sportsmanship in it haha)
Red: Bendahara (they lack of decorations which is related to sports)
Blue: Laksamana (won the 1st place for this, congrats!)
Green: Syahbandar (heard that they lost because the runner is wearing shorts lol)
Simple but it took us whole day to complete it. Yeah, kiddy idea by me hahahah

And our mascot - Garfield.
The Sports Day commenced at 8.00 a.m. with a colourful ceremony. The head prefects and the prefects unfurled the flag and there was a march past by the students in their costumes and mascot. After the march past, the VIP and headmistress gave speeches and declared open the sports meet open.
Before the event starts, Yung Jing and I took photo with the noisy (yes, friendly and annoying too) juniors.
Getting everything to be done.
Prefects take the lead.
Temenggung's march past.
When four teams were on the field.
Tharisany, our head prefect made a pledge.
The race began! The first event was 800 meter race and continued with 400 meter and 4*400 meter relay race. Then, pergerakan irama, senamrobik and back to the race, 200 meter, 4*200 meter relay race, 100 meter and lastly 4*100 relay race. The event followed one by one.
800 meter race. If I join this, I can die out of exhaustion lol

Photobomb lvl 50
Taking pic with the identical twins which I can hardly recognize who is who haha
Both of them are good runners, especially in long distance! Not to forget, they were beside me for the whole day, updating Temenggung news to me! So cute of them aww Glad to meet you guys ;)
Finally, it's my turn to be on the stadium's track. I joined 4*100 meter relay race and I guess it was my first time and last time joining this event in high school :( as I used to join 4*400 meter and 4*200 meter relay race which needed stamina more than speed haha Glad that Cik Hasyimah gave me this opportunity to try out my primary school event! (the last time I joined 4*100 meter was during my primary time, thinking back makes me feel like I'm no longer an active student as I used to join as many sports activities as I can such as race, hurdle jump, high jump and badminton lol I love joining stuffs)
Obviously, I've got butterflies in my stomach when it comes to my turn. Despite joining competition for every year, the feeling will never fade. I'm the third runner in my group and our team sprinted as fast as we could. All of us grinned like a Cheshire cat when our group was the first one to reach the ending point and knowing we STOOD IN THE FIRST PLACE! What made me really happy that I surpassed the other group! I remembered Yung Jing said that she just realised I can do short distance hahaha
le teammates but without Veronica :( However, great job!
It's time for prize-giving ceremony, a joyful yet nerve-wracking moment. Every student was required to go into the field to wait for the results and receive the prizes. Imagine sitting under the scorching hot sun, we almost melted.....

Captain!
Temenggung!
Since we were still waiting ;)
*DRUMS ROLLLLLLLLL* Temenggung's pergerakan irama and march past won the first place, both senamrobik and sorak won the second place and there were 2 sportswomen (olaragawati) from our team! THIS LED OUR TEAM, TEMENGGUNG TO BE THE CHAMPION! TEMENGGUNG WAS ON CLOUD NINE! It wasn't a big deal, but then after YEARSSSS of staying at 3rd and 4th place, we were really excited that we made through it!
*adding another gold medal for this year!*
